Setting up a Laboratory for Documentation and Communication on Social Inclusion
Symbiosis-School of Political Studies in Greece organised on Friday 21 December an event to discuss, plan and organise the Setting up of a Laboratory for Documentation and Communication, following on from the 10th December Pireas Forum on Social Inclusion based on up-to-date information, data analysis and responsible communication for more effective design and implementation of policies and actions at local level.
The Laboratory’s goal was in the coming period to collect data, material and studies on Social inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination policies, fundamental rights protection, to promote active citizenship. The Laboratory intended firstly to highlight the issues and challenges, and secondly, through study, research and documentation, to intervene accordingly towards the best possible solution, with a focus on legislation, case law, policy descriptions etc., as well as comments and notes on the following specific thematic areas:
- Basic concepts of equality and anti-discrimination
- Equality and anti-discrimination in Europe
- Ethnic origin and religion
- Positive discrimination
- Equality of results, equality of opportunity and social inclusion
- Cultural diversity and equality, different approaches and conflicts of interest
